Horizon City is 17.1 miles from El Paso Tire Shop's location — the second-farthest of the eight areas the shop covers. It sits 6.2 miles from Socorro and 8.1 miles from San Elizario, its two nearest neighbors. Current hours: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Sat 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, closed Sun.
Seventeen miles is the honest number for Horizon City, and it's worth saying plainly rather than rounding down: this is one of the two farthest stops the shop makes, alongside San Elizario. What makes it manageable is timing — Horizon City sits almost exactly between Socorro (6.2 miles) and San Elizario (8.1 miles), so anyone driving in from around there is already used to the distance.
That distance also means a Horizon City appointment is rarely a spontaneous one — most calls come in a day ahead, which suits a shop that's balancing eight coverage areas rather than just the ones closest to home base.
Is it worth the drive for a single tire?
That depends on urgency more than distance. A slow leak can usually wait for a day when the trip is already planned; a flat on the highway can't, and the 17.1 miles becomes secondary to just getting there safely.
Either way, calling first — (915) 465-4310 — means the shop can have the right tire pulled and ready rather than making a Horizon City customer wait around after a 17-mile drive.
What are the current hours?
It changes the math more than it does for closer areas. Current hours: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Sat 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, closed Sun.
